Your Profile
Your profile is how other villagers recognize you, and how you choose what to show. You do not have to fill every field. Put in what you are willing to stand by.
Open and edit your profile
- Sign in.
- Click your photo (or avatar) at the top right.
- Choose Edit Profile (or Profile → Edit from the same menu).
Update your display name, bio, and photos when you are ready. Save your changes before you leave the screen.
Photos
- Profile photo — the face of your presence in the village. Choose something clear and respectful.
- Cover photo — the banner behind your name. Night-sky violet and gold tones fit the house well, but any dignified image is welcome.
Treat your profile photo, cover photo, and display name as public. They are how people find you and send a connection.
Member types (the ladder)
Your standing under your name can grow as you walk with the village. These types stay in step with Village Unity (Journey Points, coins, and learning):
Villager → Learner → Scholar → Adept → Elder
- Villager — Default when you join; you belong.
- Learner — You have begun a course path.
- Scholar — You have completed meaningful study, or earned Intermediate Access.
- Adept — You have reached Advanced Access standing.
- Elder — Reserved for instructors and elders, set with care rather than automatic.
The ladder marks growth and trust. It is not a scoreboard for showing off.
Privacy basics
- Profile photo, cover, and name are typically visible so the village can recognize you.
- Other fields often have their own visibility settings on the edit screen — set only what you want others to see.
- Read the site Privacy Policy when deciding what to share.
- Private messages are for people you have connected with. Public Village Circle chat is not private.
Connections and messages
Friends and connections live in your profile area and under the friends icon. Private messages use the message icon. The public conversation of the house is the Village Circle, not your private profile wall alone.
