Jamilah Conteh Speaks — Friday, September 18, 2026. AES dignity-first border cooperation, and a diaspora repatriation pilot linking the Caribbean to Ethiopia.

Jamilah Conteh Speaks — SJOL News anchor still

Hello and welcome to Soul Journey of Life. I’m Jamilah Conteh, keeping minds shining bright.

Across the Sahel, Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger took a dignity-first step this week. In Ouagadougou on September sixteenth, their territorial administration ministers adopted an additional protocol to the AES Confederation treaty on cross-border cooperation, plus a governors’ consultation framework and roadmap. The aim is clear: turn border zones into spaces of security, solidarity, and shared development—not vulnerability—so communities facing common challenges can coordinate humanitarian and local progress together.

And from Bridgetown: at CARICOM’s Third Regional Conference on Reparations, advocates presented a Jamaica–Ethiopia pilot to help Rastafari and other Caribbean people resettle with legal rights, land access, and livelihood support—linking the diaspora to Shashamane and calling for a CARICOM–African Union working group.
