Peace be with you. I am Abdulwadud, founder of The Light Dome Academy — a privately run educational tutoring program that helps young students thrive.
Each student has distinct needs. We turn learning into something enjoyable and effective.
Our program
- Reading and writing improvement
- Hands-on learning
- Educational videos
- Computer and technology skills
- Fun class experiments
- Educational skits
- Memorization skills
- Test preparation
The support we need
With limited resources, classes often meet along walkways, in neighboring courtyard corners, or in the parlor of our own home. Your gifts help us keep going — and build something lasting.
- Continue the program — keep tutoring alive.
- Free lunch — often the only complete meal some children may have all day. A monthly dedication of only $50.
- Uniforms — most schools in Sierra Leone require them. About $150 for shirt, pants, and cap.
- Build The Light Dome tutorial space — at least 3,500 blocks. Packages: $60 for 320 blocks, $120 for 700, $300 for 1,600. Roofing: $600.
- Help students who cannot pay fees.
- Transportation and extended activities — a monthly dedication of $30.
- Honorary recognition for students who complete the program.
A personal appeal
As it has been recently, I have covered every aspect of the program myself — serving 8 to 12 students — which has exhausted personal funds meant for my own family and put the program at risk. I refuse to give up on these children. This is not how it should be.
They say it takes a village to raise a child. Please let that village spirit rise in you for their sake. For many, this is their only chance to learn in an environment designed for their creativity and unique needs. They deserve a brighter future — and your faith in them.
Gratitude
Thank you in advance to everyone who gives this project importance through donations and consideration. Of all investments in life, investing in our children’s learning skills is among the greatest.
